About your team
Asset Management Platforms (AMP) is responsible for the design, engineering and delivery of technology solutions that support Fidelity's global Asset Management business. We partner with Investment Management, Asset Management Operations and Distribution teams across Europe and Asia to deliver modern platforms that enable investment professionals to make better investment decisions and improve client outcomes.
The Portfolio Management Tooling team develops and supports the technology ecosystem used by Portfolio Managers, Investment Directors, Quantitative Researchers and Investment Specialists across multiple investment capabilities, including Multi-Asset, Systematic Investing, Fixed Income and Equities. Our platforms underpin critical investment processes including research, portfolio construction, analytics, order generation, execution management and investment risk.
As Artificial Intelligence continues to transform software engineering, we are investing in modern engineering practices that combine AI-assisted development with robust engineering disciplines to improve productivity, quality and speed of delivery. The AI Solutions Engineer will play a key role in helping engineering teams adopt AI-enabled development practices safely, effectively and responsibly across Asset Management Platforms.
About your role
The Senior AI Solutions Engineer is a hands-on engineer responsible for working directly with investment stakeholders to rapidly explore, prototype and deliver AI-enabled portfolio management solutions.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, using AI-assisted development to turn ideas and business problems into working solutions, rapidly testing and refining them with users before helping successful prototypes progress towards production.
You will combine practical software engineering knowledge with strong stakeholder skills, technical judgement and curiosity.

AI Solution Delivery
- Work directly with Portfolio Managers and other investment stakeholders to understand problems, explore opportunities and shape AI-enabled solutions.
- Independently take ideas from concept and rapid prototype through iterative user validation and towards production.
- Use AI development tools extensively to design, generate, test, debug and refine software.
- Rapidly experiment with different approaches, recognising when to iterate, pivot or stop.
Software Engineering & Technical Judgement
- Apply sound engineering judgement to review, validate and improve AI-generated code and solutions.
- Design solutions that are secure, scalable, maintainable and suitable for an enterprise environment.
- Work across engineering, data and architecture teams to resolve dependencies and move solutions forward.
AI Engineering Capability
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify high-value opportunities for Portfolio Management Tooling.
- Develop and share reusable prompts, workflows and engineering patterns.
- Share approaches and lessons learned to help establish the wider AI-native engineering capability.
Architecture & Governance
- Collaborate with Solution Architects and Engineering Leads to ensure solutions align with Fidelity's target architecture.
- Ensure AI-enabled solutions comply with engineering standards, security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Balance rapid innovation with appropriate technology risk management and governance.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with investment, product, engineering, data and architecture stakeholders across Dublin, London and the wider global team.
- Communicate ideas clearly, challenge assumptions constructively and use regular user feedback to drive practical outcomes.
About you
You are a hands-on engineer who combines practical software engineering knowledge with curiosity, strong stakeholder skills and a passion for using AI to solve real business problems. You are comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment, experimenting rapidly and learning from approaches that do not work.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience using AI to build, prototype or deliver practical software solutions.
- Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, Agile delivery, CI/CD and secure development.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor or similar.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, LLMs, AI agents, MCP, RAG and responsible AI practices.
- Experience delivering enterprise applications and progressing solutions from prototype towards production.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with business users and senior technology colleagues.
Experience with some of the following would be useful; we do not expect candidates to have experience across all areas:
- Java, Python, C#, TypeScript or similar languages
- AWS, Azure or GCP
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Git-based development workflows
- REST APIs and event-driven architectures
- Test automation and Infrastructure as Code
- Observability and monitoring tools
Experience in Asset Management, Investment Management or Financial Services is desirable but not essential.
