Job detail for Archives Assistant (Graduate student) - Documentary Photography Archive

The Archives Assistant will assist the Photography & Media Archivist with collections held in the Documentary Photography Archive. The Archives Assistant will primarily work with the Photography & Media Archivist to research materials held in the Documentary Photography Archive and enhance description of visual resources for use in finding aids, library guides, digital collections, and exhibits.

Additional may include but are not limited to:

• Processing archival collections, including rehousing, arranging, and describing materials.
• Pulling and preparing materials for handling by researchers or in classroom settings.
• Writing blog and/or social posts about materials and activities in the Documentary Photography Archive.
• Moving boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong research and writing skills.
• Ability to write and communicate effectively.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, OneDrive.
