Job Description
The Spanish Latam tax department is located in Colombia and we are responsible for tax compliance and fiscal planning for the region.
The team consists of the Tax Manager, a Specialist, and a Junior Specialist.
Purpose of the role:
- Guarantee the compliance and filing of national and district magnetic media, ensuring that the accounting information of Experian Colombia is detailed by third party (Client, Supplier, and Intercompany) and also determine the Tax ID and fiscal address for these.
- Prepare and file the respective tax returns in accordance with the tax calendar. Specifically, the withholding tax return.
- Ensure the correct application of withholding taxes on Supplier invoices for Colombia.
- Analyze and parameterize the correct tax code for subsequent application by the AP team.
- Monthly reconciliation of invoicing from the accounting system versus electronic invoicing from the DIAN.
Deliverables:
- Colombia withholding tax.
- National and district magnetic media information for the year 2026.
** of the role:**
- Review and reconcile the accounting information for the fiscal year in Colombia (January to December), in which transactions for P&L, assets, and liabilities must be identified by third party (Client, Supplier, and Intercompany).
- Determine that the aforementioned information by third party is classified by name or company name, Tax ID, address, department, and city. For foreign suppliers, the country and fiscal city of residence must be identified.
- Group by third party the withholdings made for income tax and VAT for the 2026 taxable year.
- Monthly review of the report generated by Oracle, which shows registered invoices, date, withholding tax rate applied, withholding base, exchange rate used, among other concepts, in order to validate the correct application of withholding tax on payments to our Suppliers, given that these activities are carried out by the AP team in Kuala Lumpur.
- Preparation of the monthly withholding tax return for Experian Colombia.
Why is this role critical for us?
Currently, the reconciliation of exogenous information submitted to the DIAN is performed manually because the accounting system does not generate 100% of the accounting by third party (Client, Supplier, and Intercompany) including their Tax ID and fiscal address. Therefore, a person must be hired to carry out this activity and thus mitigate potential penalties.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in tax areas, reconciliations, national magnetic media, and tax returns; basic proficiency in Excel and Office tools; analytical capacity and teamwork skills.
Education: Public Accountant, ideally with a Specialization in Taxation or similar.
Knowledge: National and district taxes. Accounting systems with a preference for Oracle, experience in national and district magnetic media, knowledge of withholding tax for income and VAT for national and foreign suppliers, and good Excel skills. Basic knowledge of Artificial Intelligence.
