Our location in Boxmeer is one of the most important production and development sites within our global Animal Health network. Every day, hundreds of professionals work on the production of vaccines and medicines that contribute to animal health worldwide.

You will be part of the Integrated Process Team (IPT) Live Vaccines, where high-quality vaccines are produced for the global market. Within the Maintenance & Reliability department, Engineers, Work Planners, Technicians, and Operations work closely together to ensure the availability, reliability, and safety of our production equipment and facilities.

You will join a technically challenging environment where continuous improvement, collaboration, and ownership are central.

About the role

As a Maintenance Support & Shutdown Engineer, you play a key role within the Maintenance & Reliability organization. You are responsible for the preparation, planning, coordination, and evaluation of maintenance stops and shutdowns within IPT Live Vaccines.

You work closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that all work is carried out safely, compliantly, and according to plan.

In addition to coordinating shutdowns, you support the preparation and planning of maintenance work and provide technical expertise in the field of maintenance and process technology. Thanks to your organizational skills, technical knowledge, and stakeholder management, you ensure that complex maintenance activities are successfully realized.

**Tasks and **

  • Drafting, coordinating, and optimizing shutdowns and maintenance plans.
  • Planning and aligning work with Operations, technical teams, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Coordinating and managing internal and external stakeholders during maintenance stops and shutdowns.
  • Initiating and drafting change proposals, business cases, and risk analyses.
  • Preparing cost estimates and performing cost-benefit analyses.
  • Monitoring planning, safety, quality, progress, and budget during maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining contact with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Drafting, managing, and updating procedures, documentation, and work instructions.
  • Providing technical support in the field of maintenance and process technology.
  • Evaluating shutdowns and identifying improvement opportunities for future maintenance activities.

Your profile

  • Completed technical education at HBO level or demonstrable HBO working and thinking level.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Shutdown Coordinator, Maintenance Engineer, or similar position.
  • Experience within a pharmaceutical, chemical, food, or other regulated production environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of production equipment and installations, such as control technology, electrical engineering, pneumatics, hydraulics, CIP/SIP, or freeze-drying processes.
  • Experience with work permits, maintenance stops, and shutdown planning.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP PM, Hexagon EAM, and/or MS Project is a plus.
  • Good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Able to read and interpret technical documentation in Dutch, English, and preferably German.
